Obituary For Clara Williams

Mrs. Clara Mae "Little Mama" Smarr Bryant Williams departed this life on November,4 2023 at home in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born on November 3, 1924 to the late Anderson and Minnie House Smarr in Kings Mountain, NC.

Clara received Christ at an early age and attended Love Valley Holiness Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC until she relocated to New York City where she attended Family Baptist Church, Bronx, NYC. Upon her return to North Carolina, she continued her Christian experience at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC and Long Branch First Baptist Church, Grover, NC. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and sang on the choir. She was a dedicated member of the Gastonia Prayer Band No. 2, the NAACP, and the Eastern Star and Heroine of Jericho (for over 40 years) until her health started to fail. She worked as a Nurses Aide at Grace Hospital, Morganton. NC for six years and was hailed as, "one of the best in the field". She also worked as a housekeeper and cook for sixteen years in New York City. She retired from Park Yarn Mills, in Kings Mountain, NC after twenty-three years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands John Henry Bryant (1942) and Roosevelt Williams (1989); two daughters, Bessie Mae Bryant, Debra Faye Roseboro; three sons, B.B. Bryant, Danny Roseboro, and Dewey Roseboro; one sister, Rebecca Smarr; five brothers, Ben House, Walker, Chester, Edward Clifford, Sr., and John Thomas Smarr; four step Brothers, Leroy, James, Mason and Luther Smarr; two grandsons, Kenny Boone Olemi and Christian Ollemi; two Great-Great Grandchildren, Trinity and Karter Logan.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, one sister, Sara Smarr Cooper; two daughters, Diane Kennedy Boatwright and Doris Elaine Smarr Boone Ollemi; three sons, Douglas W. Roseboro (Germaine P),. Calvin Donnell Roseboro (Gracie) and Dwayne Smarr; four grandchildren, Harriette Sealy, Johnathan Boatwright, Aaron Jeffers, Calvin Carrol; Five Great grandchildren, Latavia dna Maikiya Logan, Ashley Ollemi-Tucker, (Jermaine), Keny Quander, Devonte' Lyons (Boatwright). Twelve Great-Great grandchildren, Nyreon and Harleigh Tucker, Chandler Weaver, Ashanei,Zahar Lyons (Boatwright), and Jasiah Boatwright, Triston and Lynnix Logan, Aariyana, Aaliyah and Ariah Jeffeirs, and Calin Carroll; Five adoptive daughters; Rev. Annie Thombs, Rev. Katherine Pendergrass, Ms. Ava Jackson Smith, Min. Rachel Bel Reid and Carissa Deal, Nurse; One adoptive son, John Sealy; One adoptive Granddaughter, Tawana Michelle Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, Cousins, other relatives and special friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Clara Williams were Novemeber 11th, 2023 at Long Branch First Baptist Church, Grover, NC. Burial took place at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
