Obituary For Annie Bacon

Annie Jean Patterson was born October 4, 1935 to the late Ira and Ida Bell Shinholster Patterson in Gaston County. Annie Jean got her wings early Thursday morning, August 24, 2023 at Hospice House, Shelby in Cleveland County.

Annie was the fourth of eleven children. She received her education by Gaston County School System. Annie was employed by Rauch Industries for over ten years. She later became a Foster grandparent, teaching kindergarten school children.

Annie accepted Christ and became a member of St. James Baptist Church in Bessemer City, NC, where she attended faithfully until her health declined.

She was a strong willed lady, who loved God, loved her family, loved Pastor Love, loved Minister Ann, and she loved her friends. She loved going to church, and studying the word of God. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and Christian TV.

Preceding her in death: her parents, Ira and Ida Bell Shinholster Patterson, paternal grandparent, Willis Lou McBreyer Patterson; seven brothers, Clyde, Clarence, Bobby, Amos, Verlie (Paulette Byers) Arie Jr., Baby Boy Patterson; brother-in-law, Fred Black; two sisters, Rena Mae (Charles Partlow), Mildred (Jim Miller), Annie Jean’s husbands: Jacob McKinney, Leon Bacon; nephews, Calvin Patterson, Charles Jr., James Clarence Partlow, Jimmy Miller, Brian Patterson; special nephew, Andre Stowe; nieces, Myra Patterson, Wanda Webber, Yolanda Patterson, Janine Bordens, and Barbara Mackey.

Annie Jean leaves to cherish fond memories: one sister, Ida Frances Patterson Black; one sister-in-law, Joyce Edwards Patterson of Albany, NY; nieces, Rena (Leon Roseboro), Gloria Partlow, Vanessa Camp, Sandra (Eric Odom), Tammy (Clarence Powell) Latash Patterson, Darlene Stowe, Marlene (James Friday), Terri Michelle Patterson of Brooklyn, NY, special nieces, Carolyn Jackson, Kathy; nephews, Johnny (Camille McClain), Tony, Jerry (Stephanine Partlows) Jerome (Teresa Patterson) Ivan Patterson (finance Linda Crocker), Verlie Jr. Patterson. Arie Jr. Patterson III, special nephew, Ronnie Webber; grand nephews and nieces, Jaquan Carter, Ronnie Jr. Webber, Seven “Ty” James, Juan, Schaune (Cindy) Paul Partlows, Benita, Ebony Webbers, India Patterson, special cousin, Phillip Patterson; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held Sunday September 3rd, 2023 at St. James Baptist Church, Bessemer City. Burial took place at Kelly's Chapel Cemetery, Bessemer City. Funeral Services entrusted to Donnell Gill Funeral Service Licensee.
