Isabell Burris Watson, a devoted wife, mother, granny, was born May 14, 1929 in York, South Carolina. She was the oldest of twelve siblings born to James Edward and Rosie Bell Ratchford Burris. After a lengthy illness, she answered the call to the Lord and went home Tuesday, October, 31, 2017 at White Oak Manor Nursing Facility, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
Isabell was married to the late Freddie Lee Watson and to this union seven children was born; four girl and three boys. As of today, there are currently five generations.
Isabell was a Homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking and cleaning was her trade. I think her children and grandchildren who had the opportunity to dine at her table are still having flashback about the pan of hot biscuit and flat cake bread, her homemade soup and sticky.
She joined Langrum Branch Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until her failing health. She and her husband were the oldest married couple of the church. She was also a member of the Burial Aide Society.
Isabell was preceded in death by her parents James and Rosie Burris, her sisters; Mary Lee Burris, Nellie Rose Burris Crockett, Pearl Burris Wilson, her brothers; Luther Clinton Burris, and James William Burris.
Left to cherish her fondest memories are children: her sons; Freddie Watson, Jr., of Gastonia, North Carolina, Johnny Watson (Roxanne) and Charles Watson of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Sammie Lee Williams (Mattie) of Clover, South Carolina, her daughters; Ella R. Henderson (James) of Gary, Indiana, Christine Watson, Carrie W. Feemster (Clinton) and Tillie L. Watson of Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
